Orange-Ulster BOCES is seeking a dedicated and qualified Temporary Teacher for the Health Careers Academy within the Career and Technical Division from September 2, 2025, to December 11, 2025.  This position is responsible for delivering instruction aligned with the New York State-approved Nurse Assistant Program. The role includes teaching in classroom and clinical settings, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and facility-based requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction in accordance with the NYS-approved Nurse Assistant curriculum

  • Provide engaging didactic, practical, and clinical instruction

  • Supervise students during clinical experiences at partner healthcare facilities

  • Maintain compliance with all clinical facility protocols and NYSED requirements

  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of performance

  • Support students in developing the skills and knowledge necessary for success in the healthcare field

Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience, with at least one (1) year in long-term care

  • Strong communication, instructional, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and clinical partners

Certification Requirements:

  • Must hold or be willing to obtain a Transitional A certificate (if not already certified)

We are seeking a Teacher of Students with Disabilities and ELA 7-12 to provide comprehensive services to reflect each student's developmental level.

You’ll do this by:

Instructional Specialist - Full Time (3 Vacancies)

The Orange-Ulster BOCES' Division of Instructional Support Services is seeking (3) full-time Instructional Specialists to join our dynamic and innovative staff development team. 

Full-time Instructional Specialists will be responsible for providing expert level learning experiences for educators and K-12 students.  Instructional Specialists will present online, hybrid, and live-in-person professional learning courses for educators as well as provide expert level model instruction to students in person, using online formats, and distance learning platforms.

Successful candidates have at least 3-5 years of teaching experience as well as experience designing and implementing professional learning.  Prior experience teaching ENL/ELL or bilingual students is important for this role.  Candidates must have strong communication skills and technology skills. 

The Instructional Specialist will teach students using innovative, content-rich, technology-infused methods as well as model for, support, train and guide teachers, librarians, administrators, and other school staff to use innovative, content-rich, technology- infused methods to effectively bring the curriculum and student learning alive.  The Instructional Specialist will conduct professional learning experiences in their curriculum area, lead interdisciplinary workshops, coach teachers how to best use content area and instructional technology in the classroom, run curriculum meetings, lead curriculum development projects, collaborate with other staff developers, technology integration specialists, instructional specialists and TAs.
