Your Impact:

As a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped, you will:

  • Assess and understand each student’s needs to maximize their speech-language proficiency and communication effectiveness.
  • Conduct individual and group sessions, support with push-in services as appropriate, and collaborate regularly with classroom teachers.
  • Develop and implement instructional strategies, materials, and environments that enhance students' speech and language functioning.
  • Regularly evaluate short-term objectives to track progress.
  • Share your expertise by training special education personnel and parents in augmentative and alternative communication systems.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid teaching credential for Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Speech and Language Disabilities.
  • Experience in preparing meaningful instruction tailored to students’ assessed needs, IEP goals, and motivational levels.

Per Contract
Substitute Teachers - CTE

Substitute Teacher positions are available in our Career and Technical Education division in all content areas. 

Monday - Friday, 7:45am- 3:15pm

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis throughout the 2025-2026 school year.

ESL Teacher of Adults Ages 21 and Older

English as Second Language (ESL) teachers in Adult Education provide instruction in the areas of reading, writing, listening, and 

speaking. 

  • Incorporate civics education within the ESL curriculum and implement differentiated instruction to meet the needs of a variety of English Language Learner levels. 
  • Maintain accurate attendance and testing records and administer the Best Plus and Best Literacy assessment. 
  • Collaborate with literacy case managers and the data manager regarding testing needs of students.

Part-time, Monday–Thursday.

Times Vary: Hours may be 9am–12pm, 12-3pm or 6-9pm

Middletown and Newburgh locations

Hourly Wage $34.20
