Medical Billing and Coding Instructor (Part - Time)

Orange – Ulster BOCES is seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Billing and Coding Instructor to join our academic team in the Adult Education division.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and training to students in the field.

Responsibilities

  • This role involves preparing students for certification exams, equipping them with the necessary skills to manage medical billing processes, coding diagnoses and procedures, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Curriculum Delivery: Teach medical billing and coding courses, including healthcare terminology, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems, insurance claims, reimbursement processes, and regulatory compliance
  • Instructional Methods: Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to accommodate different learning styles, including lectures, hands-on practice, real-world case studies, and interactive group activities
  • Student Assessment: Evaluate student progress through quizzes, exams, and practical coding exercises
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to ensure successful learning outcomes
  • Certification Preparation: Prepare students for certification exams such as the CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCA (Certified Coding Associate), and other relevant credentials in the field

Qualifications/Job Responsibilities:

  • Medical Billing and Coding certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in medical billing, coding, or healthcare reimbursement
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)

Monday–Thursday

Hourly wage $36
