Job Description

Second Chances High School Equivalency teachers provide instruction in the areas of ELA, science, social studies, and math to prepare students for all subtest areas of the GED exam. Teachers differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a variety of learners ages 16-24. Instructors are responsible for maintaining accurate attendance records and ensuring their students are post tested in a timely fashion in accordance with the NYSED post testing schedule. Students in the program work with a case manager to participate in work based learning internships to enhance college and career readiness skills. The teacher incorporates career awareness activities within the instructional day to promote learning in the area of career readiness.
