The Orange-Ulster Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) is a premier educational institution serving the diverse needs of students across 17 component school districts in New York State. Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) Division currently operates 11 Academies offering 32 distinct career and technical education programs across two campuses. Our organization prides itself on strong community partnerships and excellent relationships with our component school districts. We are currently undergoing an exciting capital project that includes improving and expanding our CTE spaces and program offerings, making this an ideal time for a dynamic leader to join our team.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Assistant Director of Career and Technical Education to join our leadership team. This role is critical in supporting the ongoing success and future growth of our robust CTE programs. The ideal candidate will be a visionary educator with strong administrative experience who can help lead our organization through an exciting period of expansion and enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Career and Technical Education in the daily supervision and administration of CTE programs across two campus locations
  • Support curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation to ensure alignment with industry standards and New York State requirements
  • Foster post secondary college and training partnerships to drive the development of articulation and dual enrollment opportunities for students
  • Collaborate with CTE principals and instructors to enhance program quality and student outcomes
  • Participate in the supervision and evaluation of instructional staff
  • Foster and expand relationships with business and industry partners to enhance work-based learning opportunities
  • Assist in monitoring program enrollment, retention, and completion rates
  • Collaborate with component school districts to ensure seamless student transitions
  • Assist in budget development and resource allocation for CTE programs
  • Represent the organization at local, regional, and state meetings related to CTE

Qualifications

  • NYS School District Administrator (SDA) certification required
  • Experience with NYS CTE program approval process preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with educational technology and data-driven decision-making
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success and educational excellence
