Job Description

Orange Ulster BOCES is looking for a dedicated and compassionate CTE (Career and Technical Education) Guidance Counselor to join our team! In this role, you’ll work with students and their families to ensure success in school by offering support in academics, career planning, and personal growth. You will be part of a collaborative team, working with administrators, staff, and families to help students overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Student Support: Provide counseling on academics, career planning, personal development, and resolving challenges.
• Academic Guidance: Assist students in selecting courses, meeting graduation requirements, and planning for post-secondary education or careers.
• College and Career Readiness: Help students with college applications, financial aid, and post-graduation transitions.
• Family Collaboration: Partner with families to support student success, including during parent-teacher conferences and individual meetings.
• Career Development: Work with students on career exploration and create transition plans for life after school.

Qualifications:

• Required:
  • Master’s Degree in Counseling.
  • Valid New York State Certification as a School Counselor.
• Preferred:
  • Prior school experience.
