Work in an exciting and meaningful field teaching children with developmental disabilities.
We are seeking a Teacher of Students with Disabilities to provide comprehensive services to reflect each student's developmental level.
Orange-Ulster BOCES provides the foundation and knowledge that enables its students to venture forth in any direction they choose.
Students served (K-12) include individuals with significant developmental and intellectual disabilities, social/emotional needs, behavior management needs and/or learning differences.
You’ll do this by:

Serving as the subject matter expert, working directly with identifying, developing and implementing appropriate instructional strategies, materials, equipment and environmental factors that will maximize a student's individual needs

Drafting appropriate annual goals and short-term objectives to present at the annual CSE meeting, evaluating and re-evaluating the short-term objectives on a regular basis

Possessing the critical thinking skills to effectively assess, develop and deliver training and information to establish and maintain strong relationships and regularly communicate scholars' progress towards goals

What you bring to our team:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

Valid NYS Certification in Special Education (SWD B-2, 1-6 or All Grades)

Experience preparing sequential and meaningful instruction geared to the student’s assessed needs, IEP goals and objectives, functioning, and motivational levels
