The Adult Education program is seeking to hire substitute instructors of High School Equivalency.
High School Equivalency teachers provide remedial instruction in the four component areas of the GED exam: Reading & Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Teachers implement differentiated instruction according to each student's unique learning needs, maintain accurate attendance and testing records, administer the TABE 11/12 assessment and Readiness assessment, along with assisting students with applications for the GED exam. Substitute teachers follow the teacher's emergency lesson plan and, if not available, are prepared to support instruction with their own lessons. Substitute instructors are also responsible for ensuring students sign in and out of the class roster and submit this to the course instructor or program manager.
The workday hours may be 9am-12pm, 12pm-3pm or 6pm-9pm.
